Protecting the environment is important to Republic Services. Educating the public about solid waste management is the key to creating awareness of the serious task of managing society's waste.
Republic Services is committed to helping our communities achieve its goals for solid waste management and recycling through active participation in public education and awareness. Increased awareness will result in greater program participation and, in turn, will help the community achieve its recycling and waste diversion goals.
There are a number of resources available to learn about the solid waste industry. We have listed some of those tools, which include websites, documents, CDs, videos and books. We encourage you to use these resources and to follow the links to these websites that are replete with valuable information and research.
Recycle Rosie Activities
Our primary resource, the Recycle Rosie Curriculum: Understanding the Waste Cycle, is a recycling and environmental education curriculum for grades 4-6.
Recycle Rosie teaches kids about the importance of recycling. Various activity and coloring pages can be downloaded here.
Earth Preservers
Republic Services is proud to be a long-time supporter of Earth Preservers, the environmental newsletter for kids, their teachers and parents. It has been a terrific learning tool in hundreds of US classrooms since 1992.
Now, thanks to additional support from Republic, Earthpreservers.com provides a visually-rich, highly interactive experience that further educates, engages and entertains young minds.
